We’re welcoming MSW Intern Applicants | Hospice & Medical Social Work (Sacramento Region)
Amari Home Health & Hospice is offering a meaningful, hands-on MSW internship for students interested in end-of-life care, medical social work, and psychosocial support. This placement is designed to help you build clinical confidence and professional identity while being supported by a strong interdisciplinary team.

Internship experience may include:
Visiting patients in homes and in care settings (SNF, assisted living, memory care)
Conducting psychosocial assessments (with increasing independence)
Providing supportive counseling to patients and caregivers
Assisting families with resources, care planning, and complex decision-making
Participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborative care planning
Observing/assisting with sensitive conversations around illness, grief, and end-of-life transitions
Building skills in communication, boundaries, ethics, and documentation
Learning hospice philosophy, regulations, and systems through training + hands-on experience
Who should apply:
This internship is a great fit for MSW students who are compassionate, emotionally mature, and open to learning and reflection—especially those curious about hospice, palliative care, healthcare, or geriatrics. No prior hospice experience required.
