We know that this time of year is not always full of joy. Many of us struggle with grief, loss, and depression. Those struggles can feel even heavier when the rest of the world is celebrating. There is no easy fix for what you are going through but here are a few things to remember:
1. Be gentle with yourself and give yourself time and space in this busy season to feel your feelings. It’s ok to not feel cheery.
2. Get outside everyday, even if its cold and raining!
3. Take extra care to give your body what it needs-nutrient-dense and gut-healthy foods, exercise, sleep, and purposeful rest.
4. Focus on in-person relationships and spend less time on screens!
5. Consider the transcendent things in this life that bring lasting hope-give thanks for these things!
