👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Bring Your Kids to Work Day at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Southgate 💙

Today was filled with smiles, laughter, and some unforgettable moments as we welcomed our little guests into the building!

Our kiddos kicked off the day with a fun facility tour, getting a behind-the-scenes look at what we do each day. But the real highlight? Our “Friends Bingo” game 🎉

Instead of numbers, each square encouraged connection—
✨ Find someone with the same first initial
🍦 Someone who loves the same ice cream flavor
🎂 Someone born in the same month
…and so much more!

It was amazing watching the kids interact with our residents and staff—turning simple conversations into meaningful connections 💛

The fun didn’t stop there…
🎈 They teamed up with our Activities Department for a lively balloon toss game
🎬 Relaxed together watching Zootopia 2
🍕 And of course—ended the day with a well-deserved pizza party!

Days like today remind us that what we do goes beyond care… it’s about creating moments, building connections, and sharing joy across generations.

🧡Nutrition Month Spotlight – Meet Laura Dibattista! 🧡

With 25 years as a Registered Dietician and 14 years here at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Southgate, Laura Dibattista brings incredible experience, knowledge, and heart to our residents every day!

What inspired her journey?
It all started with a simple curiosity—nutrition felt like something interesting to study in college… and it turned into a lifelong passion!

❤️ Favorite part of the job:
Building relationships with residents and seeing the impact nutrition can have on their health. There’s nothing better than helping someone achieve a positive outcome through the right care and guidance.

🥗 One tip everyone should remember:
Stay away from fast food!

🍓 Superfood spotlight:
Berries! Packed with antioxidants and a great addition to a healthy diet—especially for seniors.

🥕 Go-to healthy snacks:
Berries, grapes, oranges, baby carrots, mozzarella string cheese, and brown rice crackers—simple, nutritious, and easy to enjoy!

🍕 Guilty pleasure:
Pizza (because balance is everything, right? 😉)

🧀 If she had to eat one meal forever:
Cheese with crackers or bread—classic and comforting!

🐾 You could feel the smiles before you even saw them… 🐾

Today at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Southgate, we had a very special visitor—our favorite four-legged girl, Roo! 💛

In honor of National Puppy Day, Roo made her rounds visiting residents, sharing cuddles, tail wags, and even dropping off adorable goodie bags along the way. 🐶🎁

And just like that…
✨ faces lit up
✨ laughter filled the halls
✨ and hearts felt a little lighter

It’s incredible how something so simple—a visit, a wag, a gentle nuzzle—can make such a meaningful impact. These are the moments that truly matter.

We are so grateful for Roo and the joy she brings to our Southgate family 🐾💛

Today we had the BEST time celebrating our incredible team with a delicious waffle breakfast—and it was everything we hoped for and more! 🙌

From the smell of fresh waffles in the morning to the smiles, laughs, and a little extra time spent together… it was the perfect way to say THANK YOU to the people who make our building feel like home every single day. 🏡💛
