June Retreat. Discovering your compassionate Voice Through mindfulness, self-compassion becomes a beautiful way to enhance physical and emotional well-being. Self-compassion involves treating yourself the way you would treat a good friend, and during this retreat, you will learn how to be a good friend to yourself when you need it the most. We often put ourselves down, and our brain automatically goes to the critical voice inside of us. How do we begin to work on this? Building the self-compassion part of the brain is like exercising. It does not happen all at once; it takes practice. We led our group on a journey to begin to discover the loving and kind voice that can be hidden deep inside of us.
