Van's high school band has made a wondrous rebound from the many setbacks of the past several years, including covid, faculty illness, a literal rebuilding of the entire school, and more. This year, the band competed for the first time in FOUR long years (none of these kids had ever competed before!), and they brought home a heap of trophies. I'm incredibly proud of my band kids and believe that band has been the most important activity of their developmental years. Van is currently the drummer in the rock band ensemble that fronts the marching band halftime show. He is also in the jazz band.
In the past, we have sold fruit to raise funds for the kids (I will put info for the fruit sale in comments, if interested), but they are trying out a more profitable campaign this year to increase funds and lower the fees that band families pay out of pocket for instruments, uniforms, music, etc. If you are interested in sponsoring Van and the CHHS Tiger Band, please click on the link ABOVE ^ and fill in any dollar amount (don't delay--fund drive ends November 1st).
