Our next Postpartum Series begins January 15!

Join Kelly and Neda for this six-week series designed to support you in the tender, transformative postpartum period. This class welcomes all new moms and birth parents—with or without your non-mobile baby—to move, breathe, and reconnect with your body in a safe, nurturing space.

Through gentle, mindful movement, you’ll begin to rebuild core and pelvic stability, release tension in the shoulders and hips, and restore balance to both body and mind. You’ll also have the chance to connect with other parents navigating this same season—sharing stories, laughter, and support.

You’ll leave feeling more centered, supported, and empowered as you continue your postpartum healing journey.

Join experienced prenatal yoga instructors Alaina Godfrey and Neda Dowlatshahi for a three-hour workshop designed to support both the birthing person and their chosen birth partner(s) as they prepare for labor. This interactive, informative session will offer practical tools and hands-on techniques that can be used throughout the late stages of pregnancy and during childbirth — no matter your birth plan or setting.

Together, we’ll explore:
-Breathwork to help manage intensity and regulate the nervous system
-Mantras and mindfulness techniques to stay focused and grounded
-Partner-supported poses that can ease discomfort and create connection
-Simple massage techniques and comfort positions to use during labor

This workshop is ideal for pregnant individuals in any stage of their pregnancy and the partner, friend, or support person who will be by their side during birth. It’s also a great opportunity to deepen your connection, improve communication, and build confidence as a team. You’ll leave with a better understanding of how to work with your body during labor, as well as how your partner can provide meaningful, hands-on support throughout the experience.

Join Jennifer Lucero Earle for this two-hour workshop, ArcanaDance – Dance to Release & Welcome: Transitioning to a New Year with Tarot & Movement. As we cross the threshold from one year to the next, this ArcanaDance™ workshop invites you to honor what has been and open to what is emerging.

Through a three-card tarot reading, you’ll be guided to:
- Release something you’re ready to leave behind from 2025
- Welcome a new energy, intention, or focus for 2026
- Invite a practice, ritual, or process to support your 2026 intention

We’ll then move into a somatic exploration of these cards through guided movement to music—allowing the body to sense, feel, and express the archetypal wisdom they hold.

No tarot or dance experience is needed. There are no steps to learn—just simple movement invitations that encourage you to follow your body’s natural impulses and move in the way that feels right for you.
Tarot decks will be provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Created by Jennifer Lucero-Earle, RSMT/RSME, ArcanaDance blends tarot, music, and guided movement to reveal hidden wisdom, invite transformation, and support healing from the inside out. A trauma-informed somatic movement therapist, educator, and tarot practitioner, Jennifer is dedicated to helping others re-inhabit their bodies with compassion and curiosity. Through the integration of movement and tarot, she invites people to engage archetypes as allies for healing, self-understanding, and more skillful, intuitive living.

Wear comfortable clothes for easy movement. No shoes required; a yoga mat is optional for floor-based practice.

Touch can be an important way to offer support and relaxation, communicate compassion and acceptance, and help your students find their full potential in a pose.

In this weekend workshop with Alexandra DeSiato, we will:
+ discuss why assists are offered
+ explore the most common shapes to assist
+ practice the hands-on assists you learn
+ look at the concerns around assists, including consent and students misunderstanding the purpose of hands-on yoga

You'll leave the weekend ready to offer safe hands-on assists, confident in the value they add to your yoga teaching, and ready to level up your classes.

This workshop, which is part of our 300/500-hour advanced studies yoga teacher training, is also open to teachers from any movement modality.

TONIGHT

An Evening of Gentle Movement, Sound Healing, Intuitive Reflection & Soulful Sisterhood
Facilitated by Alexis Besosa, E-RYT-200 & Crystal Bright, Musician & Sound Healer

Step into a sacred space created just for women — a nurturing circle where you can soften, release, and reconnect with your inner wisdom and the healing power of community.

Over the course of two hours, we’ll move through a thoughtfully crafted journey together:
-Opening & Centering – Arrive fully, ground into the space, and set intentions.
-Vocal Toning & Mantra — simple, guided sounds that free the voice, move energy, (like humming Om or Solfeggio frequencies) to clear energy and deepen your connection to breath and body.
-Gentle & Restorative Yoga with Live Music led by Alexis — grounding movement and supported stillness to reset the nervous system and open the body accompanied by Crystal Bright’s soothing live soundscapes.
-Live Sound Healing with musician Crystal Bright — bathe in healing vibrations while resting fully, with music using a combination of instruments, such as a frame drum, kalimba, crystal singing bowls, piano, accordion, and more.
-Intuitive Journaling or Creative Reflection — access your quiet inner voice through intuitive writing, creative exploration, or simply pausing with presence.
-Closing Circle — a chance to gather together and close with intention, in safe space of witnessing and sharing, where each woman is honored without judgment or advice. Sharing is welcome but never required—come just as you are.

Each circle is inspired by a chakra theme (from Root to Crown) — grounding, creativity, empowerment, compassion, truth, intuition, transcendence, and integration — creating a complete journey of balance and renewal.

This circle is for women seeking:
-Heartfelt connection and community
-Rest from the constant doing
-A reset for the nervous system
-A deeper relationship with intuition
-A reminder that they are not alone

No experience with yoga, sound healing, or journaling is necessary. Simply come as you are, ready to soften into presence, connect, and be held in the company of others.

We can’t wait to welcome you into this sacred space.

Our Story

Carolina Yoga Company is a group of sister studios ready to help you connect with yoga. The Carolina Yoga Company includes Carrboro Yoga, Durham Yoga, and Hillsborough Yoga. We serve the communities of Carrboro, Chapel Hill, Durham, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, and all of central North Carolina by creating a space for connection. This can be a connection of body, mind, and spirit; of the individual and the community; of mindfulness with action, thought, and feeling. Our classes meet you where you are, at any age and in any state of being. Join us to connect with the right yoga to help you find balance.

You’ll often find our owners, Sage Rountree and Lies Sapp, enjoying our broad range of class offerings. Together, Sage and Lies direct the Carolina Yoga Teacher Training program. Their commitment to well-being through balance extends to their other businesses, the Hillsborough Spa and Day Retreat and the Carolina Massage Institute.

We are both proud and humble to create a space for connection, community, and balance. Thank you for recognizing our hard work with numerous awards, including Best of the Triangle in the Independent Weekly poll for both Carrboro Yoga and Durham Yoga for five straight years. We are excited to continue to grow with you.
