Channel Acupuncture & Herbs

Channel Acupuncture & Herbs Acupuncturist & Herbalist I am a geek about ear reflexology and auriculotherapy, using the ear as a microsystem. For fun I watch British mystery series.

I love traditional Chinese medicine in all its forms - acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion (warming herbs), auriculotherapy, and cups! I've been practicing for about 17 years now and always learning new ways to help my patients... it's fun to have a vocation, not just a job. Now I see ears everywhere... like at the beach the flat shells look like my Chinese maps of the ear. Loved the show Vera! Also love walking in the woods and being near water.

https://mailchi.mp/4ea7fef8241f/the-neck-as-a-pivot The Neck and Its Pivotal Role: The neck is the bridge between body and brain and its structural integrity plays an important role in maintaining a healthy spine.

Due to its position as the base of the head the neck is a bridge between body and brain. It houses nerves and blood vessels and also the cervical vertebrae. When any problem, whether structural or functional, impedes these structures there is an added risk of affecting circulation to the head. Heada...

Tis' the season of ginger.
I love to remind myself and others about the simple herbs and spices that not only elevate our senses but also have healing properties.
Ginger is aromatic and warm, and enters the Spleen, Lung and Stomach per TCM. It is used traditionally to reduce fever, ease abdominal cramps, reduce vomiting and nausea, and protect the stomach lining.
It is also a relaxant, and can protect against anxiety and panic attacks. Yay! Very helpful during stressful times including holidays.
The bennies go on:
If you fear getting a cold virus, peel and cut up a few pieces of ginger (about 1/4 cup) and steep in 2 cups of hot water for 15 minutes. Drink the tea every 30 minutes until symptoms subside.

Do not consume ginger if you are warm or have a fever, or if you have hot flashes.
