🚧 Construction Update! 🚧

Beginning tomorrow, the south corridor of the hospital, from radiology to the laboratory, will not be accessible for approximately one month’s time. Employees will be available to assist patients in navigating through the hospital.

πŸš‘ Key Updates for Patients and Visitors Direct Admits/Emergency Department:

This will not affect the Emergency/Admitting entrance in any way. For emergencies, always report to the Emergency Department. Direct admission patients will enter through the Emergency/Admitting entrance and register at patient registration. A St. Anthony employee will assist them to their next destination.

πŸ”¬Laboratory Patients:

From 6 a.m. – 3 p.m. patients can register at the St. Anthony Clinic for labs. After 3 p.m., patients must register at patient registration (enter through Emergency/Admitting entrance). Patients will then be assisted to the laboratory or labs will be drawn in the emergency department based on staffing.

🩻 Radiology Patients:

Will experience no changes. Patients should continue to register at patient registration (enter through Emergency/Admitting entrance).

🩺 Clinic Patients:

Will experience no changes. Patients should register at the clinic and enter through the blue canopy entrance on the east side of the first floor of the hospital.

During weekends and after hours (9 p.m. – 5 a.m.), all patients should enter through the emergency/admitting entrance.

All external vendors and community partners have been notified of these updates to ensure continuity of care and services.

We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our patients, visitors, and community as we complete this important campus-wide improvement effort.

πŸ‘πŸΌ Patient Testimonial πŸ‘πŸΌ

"I had the most incredible experience at The Birth Place, and could not recommend them enough!

As a first time mom I was very nervous and didn't know what to expect, but the staff was super friendly, explained everything well, and were super calm and caring. I was in labor for almost 40 hours, and saw a few different nurses and every single one of them was knowledgeable, kind, supportive and made my experience great. Even in the most vulnerable situations they made me feel comfortable, and cared for.

At the time of delivery my baby took a little bit of convincing to breathe and cry on his own. The entire time Dr. Coffey, Dr. Shariat and the nurses explained everything, stayed super calm, and talked through every procedure/intervention happening. I never once doubted that we were receiving the best possible care!

The relationship and connection you get to build with your provider and then having them be there through every step of the process is something that meant the world to me. The same provider that I saw in all my prenatal appointments was there to check on me throughout my labor process and even came in at midnight when she had to go to clinic at 8 am the next morning, to be the one to deliver my baby. I am so thankful for Dr. Coffey, Dr. Shariat and all of the nurses at The Birth Place for making me have such a wonderful labor experience, despite it not being an easy one!"

Thank you, Ellen, for allowing The Birth Place to be part of your birth story. πŸ’œ

🍼 M I L K Y M O N D A Y 🍼

❓ Did you know ❓ When babies are born, their stomachs can only hold up to 7ml at a time? Their stomachs gradually increase in size as they grow. Since their bellies can only hold small amounts, it is common for newborns to feed frequently. Frequent feedings help to create a good milk supply as well.

Have questions regarding feeding your baby? Call The Birth Place to speak with one of our lactation specialists at 712-794-5260. πŸ“²
