It has been a busy spring. We always have a lot of visitors like the Bethel Baptist Church. We are so thankful that they come out and do Sunday services with us! We have our regulars that always make our day. The Library came and read a few books. "The Giraffe Is Too Tall For This Book" and "When Things Aren't Going Right" The Swan Lake Conservation Center came out with different furs and pelts. A special thank you to the Hymn Singers and the Historical Society for a wonderful program on the town of Halbur. RSVP came out and helped us plant flower seeds. They are growing fast! The animal shelter brought a gentle cat for our residents to love on. Thank you to everyone who shares their talents and expertise with us!

Brynna stopped out before prom with her date to mingle with our residents! Thank you!

We have been crafting and baking cookies. We found a recipe for chocolate chip cookies made with honey. They were fantastic!

We celebrated the first of May with May Baskets! We also had a very lovely Mother's Day Party! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Moms and Grandmas!

The weather is slowly getting a bit better. We did get outside to plant some potatoes and tomatoes! We will be doing more flowers here soon!

Barb has been keeping our residents busy with many fun Spring crafts!

We have been super busy here at Journey. We were able to celebrate Pat's birthday in March. Happy Birthday to Pat!

As always, we have many visitors. The Historical Society came and did a presentation on Roselle and Hillsdale. (That was very interesting for our residents and staff) RSVP came to do a craft and the Hymn Singers are always a fan favorite!

So many creative crafts were on the agenda for Easter! One of the favorites, was dying easter eggs using rice and food coloring. It was an easy and mess free activity!

Thank you to Wendy from the Carroll Library for reading " Once I was a Tree" and " We are Definitely Human" to our residents.

Thank you also to Father and all the Pastors who come share the word with our residents.

The Swan Lake Conservation Center entertained us with facts and fun about all the different kinds of ducks in our area.

Bingo and making cookies for us to eat are always a good and tasty time for everybody!

We also had a very special visitor🐰

We have been crafting, baking chocolate chip cookies and enjoying our many visitors!

A special thank you to Kodak for coming out for pet therapy and for the library for sharing our love of "dog" books.

We celebrated Valentine's day by having a party for our residents!

We have been keeping busy with many "inside" activities during this frigid January!

Even though it is cold outside, we are staying warm with fun exercises and events!

Crafting and coloring is always a hit with our residents. We are gearing up for hopefully warmer weather in February and Valentine's Day!

Barb from the Historical Society came out and gave a wonderful historical review on the town of Breda and Wheatland Church.

Beavers were the topic of the Swan Lake Conservation Center. She is always so good with our residents and they really enjoy her "hands on" presentations!

The Hymn singers once again had the dining room a rocking with their musical talents!

Happy Birthday to Eric and Happy New Year! Journey rang in the New Year with sparkling grape juice and a wonderful New Year's Eve lunch!

We really appreciate all the groups that come out to spend time with our residents. Carroll Animal Rescue League, Wendy from the Library, RSVP and the Bethel Baptist Church.

Caruso the cat came to visit. He was a total hit with the residents! Wendy came and read "Making Art" and "The Book That Almost Rhymes". The Bethel Baptist church came out to do a service for us. We always enjoy RSVP coming to help us with our crafting!

Barb is keeping our residents busy with a lot of exercises. The balloon toss and bubbles are always a lot of fun!

We had a very Merry Christmas here at Journey!

We started off Christmas week with the Carroll County Historical Society giving another informational and interesting presentation on the town of Glidden, Iowa. The Swan Lake Conservation Center came out to give a presentation on the bison. The Hymn singers gave a wonderful musical program full of Christmas songs! Thank you to all of you who share your passion and talents with us!

The residents were busy crafting and making cookies all week. We had our annual staff and resident Christmas party with great snacks and a Special Guest!

On Christmas Day our residents received our Christmas gifts for them.

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and we wish all of you a very Happy New Year!

We are definitely in the Christmas Spirit here at Journey!🎄🎁

We have been busy decorating, crafting and keeping very busy with inside activities. One of our favorite past times has been watching traditional Christmas movies with popcorn and treats!

We have been staying warm while it has been freezing outside. 🥶

Thank you as always to RSVP for coming out to spend time with our residents. We always enjoy the Library visits and pet therapy!

We said good bye to November with many fun activities and memories.

The Breda Legion and Hy-Vee helped us celebrate our Veterans, Bud and John. Congratulations to Bud for being recognized for 60 years of membership to the American Legion! Thank you both for your service! 🇺🇸

The elephant is one of the symbols for Alzheimer's and Dementia awareness. It is based on the animal's famous ability to remember things for a long time. The symbolism connects the elephant's exceptional memory to the importance of remembering those with Alzheimer's and highlights the connection between social interaction and cognitive health. November is Alzheimer's awareness month. So, we handed out purple ribbons to our visitors and residents. We also want to give a special thank you to the library for coming out to stuff "Build a Bear" elephants with our residents. 💜💜

The Carroll County Historical Society gave a wonderful historical presentation on Maple River, Iowa. We enjoyed the hymn singers. They always put on a fantastic performance. The Swan Lake Conservation Center did a presentation on Turkeys!

A special thank you to our dining staff for the wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner they prepared for our residents and their families! 🦃

We hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and on to Christmas!
