We had a very Merry Christmas here at Journey!

We started off Christmas week with the Carroll County Historical Society giving another informational and interesting presentation on the town of Glidden, Iowa. The Swan Lake Conservation Center came out to give a presentation on the bison. The Hymn singers gave a wonderful musical program full of Christmas songs! Thank you to all of you who share your passion and talents with us!

The residents were busy crafting and making cookies all week. We had our annual staff and resident Christmas party with great snacks and a Special Guest!

On Christmas Day our residents received our Christmas gifts for them.

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and we wish all of you a very Happy New Year!

We are definitely in the Christmas Spirit here at Journey!🎄🎁

We have been busy decorating, crafting and keeping very busy with inside activities. One of our favorite past times has been watching traditional Christmas movies with popcorn and treats!

We have been staying warm while it has been freezing outside. 🥶

Thank you as always to RSVP for coming out to spend time with our residents. We always enjoy the Library visits and pet therapy!

We said good bye to November with many fun activities and memories.

The Breda Legion and Hy-Vee helped us celebrate our Veterans, Bud and John. Congratulations to Bud for being recognized for 60 years of membership to the American Legion! Thank you both for your service! 🇺🇸

The elephant is one of the symbols for Alzheimer's and Dementia awareness. It is based on the animal's famous ability to remember things for a long time. The symbolism connects the elephant's exceptional memory to the importance of remembering those with Alzheimer's and highlights the connection between social interaction and cognitive health. November is Alzheimer's awareness month. So, we handed out purple ribbons to our visitors and residents. We also want to give a special thank you to the library for coming out to stuff "Build a Bear" elephants with our residents. 💜💜

The Carroll County Historical Society gave a wonderful historical presentation on Maple River, Iowa. We enjoyed the hymn singers. They always put on a fantastic performance. The Swan Lake Conservation Center did a presentation on Turkeys!

A special thank you to our dining staff for the wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner they prepared for our residents and their families! 🦃

We hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving and on to Christmas!

Congratulations to our wonderful staff and management for a successful Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing visit on Monday. Journey Senior Services continues to be the best in Assisted Living/Memory Care which specializes in Alzheimer's and Dementia care in Central Iowa.
