We found ourselves super busy going into Fall here at Journey. It is football season, so we had to have a little fun for the Iowa/ ISU football game. Unfortunately, for the author of Journey's page, the author's team didn't win ☹️🙂 But, we did have some fun snacks, watched a football game on television and had a little pre-game poll.

We have been enjoying fall crafts and thank you to the RSVP group for coming out to help us with our crafts, snacks and fellowship.

The Hymn Singers and the Knobbe singers entertained our residents. Music is the best therapy! Thank you to both groups for taking the time to sing to and with our residents!

Speaking of therapy, we had the Animal Rescue Shelter come out with a fun loving dog for our pet therapy.

Bingo, making cookies and working on our seasonal posters are always a highlight here at Journey!

We are finishing off summer at Journey with many fun activities and visitors!

Swan Lake came out with Bears! They had a wonderful presentation for our residents. The Carroll County Historical Society did a very informative overview on the history of C**n Rapids, Iowa. As always, the Hymn singers performed many favorite songs. They are a "fan favorite".

RSV had a group come out to do a craft with our residents. Availa Bank came with a lovely bouquet of flowers acknowledging National Senior Citizen Day!

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR VISITORS WHO MAKE THE EFFORT TO SPEND TIME WITH OUR RESIDENTS! YOU ARE SO APPRECIATED!

Here a few quick photos highlighting our week here at Journey!

It was time to harvest the potatoes and tomatoes. They enjoyed digging them out of the dirt and we all had fun watching our gardens grow this summer!

We had more cats for pet therapy and we fired up some games of Bingo! A resident favorite!

Our sweetcorn is ready! Our residents had a great time picking, husking and preparing it for lunch!

The activity room has been busy with the summer theme board and a lot of fun crafts!

Swan Lake came to visit again this month and their focus was "animals with antlers" There were some fun hunting stories told by our residents. Swan Lake does a great job keeping them engaged. Thank you so much!

We always enjoy the hymn singers who come to share their talent and stories with our residents.

When it is super hot and humid out, it is always fun to put on a movie and snack on some popcorn. One of our more popular movies was the "Apple Dumpling Gang"

Happy Birthday to Jo! Thank you to Jo's family for bringing in a delicious cake to share with our residents.

Thank you to Kenny and Clay for grilling hotdogs and hamburgers for our 4th of July barbeque. We had baked beans, chips, patriotic cookies and watermelon.

We had another visit from the Animal Rescue of Carroll with puppy therapy.

Pastor Mike and his congregation from Bethel Baptist Church held a Sunday worship service with our residents. We had a great turn out and it was very much appreciated.

RSVP came out to do a craft with our residents. We were able to get some of the guys to participate. I think they were more interested in the cookies and lemonade!

The Carroll Summer Fun Camp kids also came out to visit and do an easy craft with our residents. the kids painted rocks and brought homemade cards for our residents. Everyone had a great time!

Thank you to all the people and organizations that come out to spend time with our residents! We love it!

It has been a very busy June for us at Journey!

John was recognized by Hospice of the Midwest for his military service with a pinning ceremony. Thank you John!

Some of the guys enjoyed a Father's Day pizza and beer (N/A and root beer) party.

Thank you to the Hymn Singers for their monthly visit to share their musical talents. They are always a hit!

We celebrated CNA week with fun snacks, gifts and contests for our amazing staff to win some fun prizes. Thank you to our Healthcare Associates for all you do! We are blessed with the best! Thank you to HOM for the lemonade stand for our staff 😀

Swan Lake came out to do a presentation on turtles. The residents really enjoy these events.

As always, fun crafts are on the agenda. We have been making red, white and blue creations for the 4th of July!

We are having a great time celebrating all the amazing birthdays here at Journey! Happy Birthday to Mary Ann! Cheers to Alvin "Bud" on his birthday and Happy Birthday to Yvon!

Barb from the Historical Society gave a wonderful presentation on Carrollton in Carroll County for our residents. She also displayed a wonderful quilt. Our quilters here at Journey were quite impressed. Thank you Barb!

We had Animal Rescue of Carroll here for pet therapy with two of the most adorable kittens! Thank you for sharing your wonderful animals with us.

We have been getting outside to check out our growing gardens, sweet corn field and apple trees!
