PSA....Pickens County Ambulance service needs you!! We are facing severe employee shortages causing delayed response times and or dependence on surrounding counties for help. If you are seriously interested in becoming an Emergency Medical Responder and want to work full or part time with Pickens Ambulance there will be a free 2 week class.
A few things to know up front..
1. The class will be M-F from 9-5 in Tuscaloosa.
2. The first week will consist of didactic class work and the second will cover emergency vehicle operation and stretcher training.
3. One you complete the class you will be an employee with Pickens Ambulance.
4. We will be hosting an open house in the next couple weeks to address any questions.
Please keep in mind that this class is for employment with Pickens Ambulance. Also understanding that your job will be more than just driving the ambulance. You will be helping to save lives, you will see and be helping with critically injured/ill people. Some of these things can be difficult to deal with so if you don't think this is the job for you please reconsider the class.
