Job Description (Mobile Phlebotomist)
What does the mobile phlebotomist do?
A mobile phlebotomist or ‘paramedical examiner’ travels to applicant homes to visit our customers applying for life, health and disability insurance. An examiner also does mobile draws that may include clinical research studies, genetics testing and Wellness events in support of our customers. These specimen collections are typically obtained through phlebotomy but are also collected as saliva specimens. Additionally, an examiner can also staff Health and Wellness events as they are available for coverage.
Most mobile phlebotomists or ‘paramedical examiners’ typically cover a 20-30 mile radius of their homes. We have numerous mobile phlebotomist or ‘paramedical examiners’ that cover a broader area for greater revenue opportunity.
Creativity and fixability is always supported in this realm. The days of the week and hours you’ll be making available are yours to determine by managing your calendar of availability online with our office(s).
A mobile phlebotomist or ‘paramedical examiner’ is an independent-contractor who brings their skillset and tools to service our customers.
Tools required to service customers are:
Regular adult and extra large blood pressure cuff
Stethoscope
Watch with second hand
Bathroom scale certified to at least 330 #
Standard metal tape measure for measuring height, and a soft tape measure for measuring chest and abdominal measurements).
EKG knowledge a plus but not required
Spanish / Bilingual speaking A PLUS but not required
*Reliable transportation a must.
High speed internet connection, computer, and scanner/printer required.
