Our own Megan Grilliot, MD, an obstetrics and gynecology specialist with Tanner Healthcare for Women, is featured in this WAGA Fox 5 Atlanta report on Georgia's efforts to expand care for people after a delivery.

One obstetrician says the 6 months of extra health coverage is a step in the right direction, but it is not enough.
Congratulations to our Maternity Care team for the recent inclusion in Newsweek's Best Maternity Hospitals list! The staff at Tanner Healthcare for Women, Carrollton OB/GYN and everyone in our Maternity Centers enjoyed celebrating together and sharing some tasty Moe's nachos this week. September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Ovarian cancer is the fifth-leading cause of cancer-related death among American women. It's especially dangerous because symptoms often don't occur until a later stage of the disease. That's why only about 20% of ovarian cancers are found early. Speak to your women's health provider about your risk, screenings and the symptoms to watch for. And take the opportunity this month to research ovarian cancer so you can serve as an informed source when you encourage other women to get screened: https://qoo.ly/3du2wr

Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton was recently named on Newsweek's list of Best Maternity Care Hospitals.
Newsweek partnered with The Leapfrog Group to compile the list of hospitals that demonstrate excellence in maternity care. To be considered for the list, hospitals had to demonstrate they meet Leapfrog's standards for excellence in maternity care: low rates of C-section, episiotomy and early elective deliveries, and follow important protocols to protect moms and babies.
