We’ve made a few updates to our support group schedule, and we are so excited to introduce something new 💛

✨ The Resilience Circle ✨
A peer-led mental health support group focused on strength — not diagnosis.

This group is built around lived experience, encouragement, practical tools, and real conversations about navigating mental health with resilience.

We are proud to continue offering a variety of support groups in our community, and we’re grateful to create space for growth, connection, and hope.

Join us Wednesdays from 1:00–2:00 PM and come sit in the circle. 🤍

Today we proudly hung our CPS-MH Code of Ethics, CARES (CPS-AD) Ethical Code, and the Recovery Bill of Rights on the wall at The Recovery Spot and Carroll County Mental Health Advocates.

This is more than decor.
This is our foundation.

These aren’t just documents — they are promises. Promises to protect dignity. To honor self-determination. To lead with lived experience. To serve with integrity. To uphold recovery as a right — not a privilege.

Every peer who walks through our doors deserves to know what we stand for and what they can expect from us.

We are proud to display these values boldly and visibly — because ethics, recovery, and peer support are not just what we do… they are who we are. 💚

We appreciated the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation with Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper about the unique needs of rural Carroll County.

Farmers and agricultural families face immense pressures, from economic uncertainty, to long hours and generational stress. The impact on mental health is real. It was encouraging to hear that supporting the behavioral health needs of Georgia’s agricultural community is front and center on his agenda.

Conversations like this matter. When state leadership recognizes that rural mental health, especially among our farming population, requires targeted attention and resources, it moves us one step closer to sustainable solutions.

We are grateful for the partnership and the shared commitment to ensuring that those who feed our communities also have access to the support they deserve.

💚Proud of this incredible team for representing Carroll County at Mental Health Day at the Capitol today.

Advocating under the Gold Dome is a powerful reminder that the work happening at the local level matters. We were honored to stand alongside partners from across Georgia to elevate the importance of mental health services, recovery supports, and access to care.

Grateful for the opportunity to share the impact of our programs, the needs of Carroll County, and the voices of the individuals and families we serve each day. Advocacy in action. 💚

We were honored to spend time with Kevin Tanner, Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, discussing the critical work being done to strengthen behavioral health systems across our state.

Commissioner Tanner’s leadership and commitment to expanding access to mental health and substance use services continues to make a meaningful impact in communities like ours. Conversations centered on diversion programming, peer-led recovery supports, and the importance of meeting individuals where they are in their journey.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share how our community-based efforts are reducing recidivism, supporting recovery, and restoring lives. Partnerships at the state and local level remain essential as we work together to build a stronger, more responsive behavioral health continuum for Georgians.

The Recovery Spot of West Georgia is humbled to host the The INTO LIGHT Project.

We are inviting families who have lost a loved one to substance use to honor their life through art and storytelling. Each family will share a photo and their loved one’s story to receive a professionally created portrait at no cost. After the exhibit, the framed portrait is gifted back to the family.

This powerful exhibit will be held at the Carrollton Center for the Arts in the Roush Family Gallery from November 5 through December 14, 2026. Thirty individuals from Georgia will be featured, and submissions are first come, first served.

What an incredible honor it is to be part of such a powerful and meaningful project. If this speaks to you, please share this message as we continue changing the narrative together.
