Tommy was born on December 19, 1938, in DeWitt, Missouri, to parents Herbert Allen Ward, Sr., “Bacon” and Katherine Marie (Vandeventer) Ward. Tommy attended school in Brunswick, Missouri. He worked as a pipeliner, mechanic, and truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was united in marriage to Clara Pennington, and two children were blessed to this marriage, Thomas Allen Jr. and Anna Marie. He was later united in marriage to Trella Harden, and two children were blessed to this marriage, Thomas Randall and Quenten Lewis.
Tommy was always working and was quite the handyman. He was capable of any household repairs and invented useful tools for simple tasks. He remodeled his entire home to his own liking because he was known to have a stubborn demeanor at times. He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing, and he built and flew remote-controlled airplanes. He was an avid QVC shopper and was always looking for the best bargain. He had a giving heart, especially toward children that were sick and often donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Thomas is survived by three children, Thomas Allen Ward, Jr. (Dana) of Bograd, Missouri, Anna Marie Fountain of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Thomas Randall Ward of Norborne, Missouri; Grandchildren, Suzanne Ward, Tabitha Riley Ward, Kayleigh Ward, Andi Ward, Chris Casteel, Brandon Casteel, Harley Johnson, Shania Johnson, Katherine Michelle Ward; great-grandchildren, Caden, Logan and Maggie Casteel, Hana Marie Johnson, Derrek Duane Crackenberger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Herbert A. Ward, Jr., and Penelope Sue Ward; a son, Quenten Lewis Ward; and two grandchildren, Carrie Lynn Ward and Dallas Riley Ward.
There will be a service at a later date.
The family humbly suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

William “Billy” Joseph Stokes, age 53, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away at 5:53 p.m., December 6, 2023, at his home in Carrollton.
Billy was born on December 24, 1969, in Waverly, Missouri, to parents Joseph Edward III and Sharron Kay (Moon) Stokes. Billy spent his childhood and attended school in Carrollton. He enlisted with the Army Airborne Heavy Artillery and was sent to Fort Sill, Oklahoma, but severely injured his hand and was given leave with a medical discharge. Billy was a forklift operator for Carrollton Specialties and worked for Conagra/Tyson Foods as their meat smoker for the Black Forest Hams. He attended Southside Baptist Church.
He was forced to take an early retirement from Tyson Foods as their meat smoker because of his diagnosis of throat cancer in 2010. Billy loved his job, and this was a battle from the beginning due to being told he had about a two-week survival time remaining. Billy surprised everyone with his strong will to live and proved the doctors wrong. He was also shown how every day was priceless and a true gift, and he strived to make each day count. Billy was a family man, cherished his children and grandchildren, and wanted to spend quality time with them. He enjoyed riding go-karts with his nieces and nephews and later with his grandchildren, riding his three-wheeler around town, and watching Anime with his son. Billy loved his cats and dogs and even taught the cats how to play fetch. He had to have his daily McDonald Frappe,’ and he was proud of his long, beautiful hair and loved to have it brushed and put in a long braid.

Billy is survived by his parents, Joseph Edward III and Sharron Kay Stokes of Carrollton, Missouri; his beloved fiancé, Joyce Utterback; three children, Cynthia Jo Goodloe (Gavin) of Lexington, Missouri, James Michael Stokes of Carrollton, and Nickalas Madison of Carrollton; a sister, Greta Lynn Stokes (David) of Liberty, Missouri, Paul Nathaniel Stokes (Mary) of Waverly, and Patrick Nathan Stokes (Kim) of Carrollton; aunts and uncles, Carolyn and Gary Hughes of Carrollton, Sherry and Alex Wingate of Carrollton, and Chuck and Janet Atherton of Norborne; five grandchildren, Jackson Goodloe, Bret Goodloe, Brantley Joseph Goodloe, Connor Cox, and Daniel Cox; nieces and nephews, Mallory, Mickey, Jordan, Jadie, David, Andrew Joseph “A.J.,” Nickey, and Kymra; and a tribe of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by two aunts, Virginia Hammond and Annette Jones, and his uncle, Fred Stokes.

A Celebration of Life will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 15, 2023, at Foster Funeral Chaples, Carrollton, Missouri.

Burial will be at a later date at Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family humbly suggests memorial contributions to the HELP Services Cancer Fund.
