As backpacks get zipped and buses start rolling, we are here to help ensure your child’s school year begins with confidence, health and safety at the forefront.
Whether your kids are walking to class, riding their bikes or catching the bus, a little preparation goes a long way. Here are some tips to discuss with your children about safety this school year:
🛑 On the Way to School:
• Use sidewalks and crosswalks.
• Wear a helmet when biking.
• Stay seated on the bus and wait for the driver’s signal to cross.
• Look both ways before crossing streets.
🏫 At School:
• Wash your hands regularly.
• Don’t share hairbrushes, drinks or food with classmates.
• Listen to safety drills.
• Be kind and tell a teacher if bullying occurs.
🏠 At Home:
• Talk about what to do in an emergency.
• Make sure children know their address and important phone numbers.
• Remind children to always tell you or a trusted adult if they feel unsafe.
• Teach your child how to recognize and respond to online dangers.
