Our clients were busy last week traveling to fun spots around the metroplex. From seeing the Chinese lanterns at the Galleria to stopping at Build A Bear where we built a frog. We went Bowling. Out to lunch and took some time to enjoy a lake close by. Our clients were busy! Stay tuned for our outing pictures this week!

On Tuesday this week the clients went to the Ft. Worth Stockyards for a day of fun. They enjoyed watching the cattle drive and seeing the Longhorn steers up close. We went to a museum and went to the rodeo building so the clients could see how big the arena is. We also enjoyed lunch in the stockyards.

Before the storm, these two clients had a blast at the Dallas Galleria. I think you can tell from the pictures they both had fun!

Friends and supporters, we have been lucky to not have to replace any equipment recently. Unfortunately, our luck ran out this week and we have to replace our dishwasher. If you have a contact that could help us get a deal on a new dishwasher, please reach out to Jake (jake@caringpathways.org) and let him know. Of course, we are very thankful for any donations our friends can make to help defray the cost of purchasing a replacement. THANK YOU!

We are a small 501(c)3 charitable non-profit organization, founded in 2018, serving Carrollton, Texas and surrounding areas. We provide an integrated, compassionate day program to underserved adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require assistance with activities of daily living. Opening 2019.
A story from our President:
“This project is very dear to my heart as I have a son who has a rare genetic condition called MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. He began showing developmental delays at an early age. I remember trying to find care for him as a young child; it was extremely difficult. I, like so many of my friends with typically developing children, searched for a quality program. I was “encouraged” to look elsewhere as they felt unable to adequately meet his needs. Unlike my friends, my search soon turned to finding any program that would take him. He was not yet walking, not yet talking, not yet toilet trained. I had little choice, if any.
Fast forward to today. My son is 27 years old, and I find myself in a similar situation with a lack of choice and a lack of a quality programming. I don’t want a place that will just take him, where he will just sit, and where he is not encouraged to learn new things. I, like other parents, want the best for my son.
Even before my son aged out of the public education system at 21, my dream began for a quality day program for adults with developmental disabilities. I dreamed of opening a bright, stimulating, and welcoming center for adults with developmental disabilities, a place where all people have value, dignity, and a voice, where even the most difficult and long lasting challenges are addressed through meaningful, engaging activities and where we celebrate ability over disability.
When I retired, this dream became my passion, and I knew I had to do something. I am fortunate to know some very talented people who share my vision and Caring Pathways of Carrollton will open in the fall of 2018.”
