Long before therapy was normalized in our community, we were practicing it — through prayer, storytelling, music, movement, and showing up for one another.
As a mental health provider, I see this clearly:
When Black women choose therapy today, we are not starting from scratch.
We are continuing a legacy.
Healing is not something we earn.
It is our birthright.
