In 1884, George Cameron “Noremac” accepted a $2,000 wager to run 51 miles every day for 100 days. His venue was his own saloon in New York City. His small track was 44 laps to a mile. One hundred people could pack into the room to watch him do his 8,976 corner turns each day. A piano and violin were used to spur him on and entertain the crowd.

Noremac, a small man, 5’ 3”, ate six meals a day but still fell to only 102 pounds at one point. He said his work in the hall was “spiritless, and the excitement is wanting, hence the task is monotonous and dreary.” He successfully finished on February 26, 1885. It was said, “Armed with a saw and axe he could have done more good, but would have received less money.”

Noremac went on to win more six-day races (19) than anyone in history.

The Dallas Cowboys honored Charlie Kirk with a stadium-wide moment of silence.

AT&T Stadium went dead quiet — you could hear a pin drop. And then, as the silence ended, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause.

Tens of thousands stood together to honor Charlie. It was powerful.
