Today we had the pleasure of attending Nucor’s mental health day. It was a great success, and we were fortunate to meet with many of there wonderful employees! On behalf of myself and the health department I would like to extend a huge thank you to Nucor for facilitating us and this event, as well as providing a fantastic lunch.

Thank you, Happy Hollow Resort, in Worthville Kentucky and El Pelon, in Ghent Kentucky for allowing Three Rivers District Health Department to set up Naloxone boxes at your place of business. That makes 9 areas that we have Naloxone boxes displayed at.
Here is a list of all of our area's:
*Carrollton Health Department
*Baker's Garage
*Prestonville Shell Gas Station
*Open Door Baptist Church
*Carrollton Liquor Store (across from Marshall Chevrolet)
* Coroner's office (behind the jail & courthouse)
*Worthville City Hall
*Happy Hollow Resort (Worthville Ky. beside the POA building)
*El Pelon restaurant (Ghent Ky. right by the stop light)
I usually check these and keep up with keeping them filled. However, if they become empty before I have made it to check them you can call the Carrollton Health Department @502-732-6641 to let me know. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

*NEED SOME HELP?
Who doesn’t need help?
Maybe it’s just having some papers printed off, looking for a job or housing. Don’t we all just need someone to help us make that first step sometimes? I know that when I am struggling and do not understand I always reach out for help. You’ll never know unless you ask.
*COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS
Did you know that we have Community Health Workers in all surrounding counties? What’s a Community Health Worker you ask?
Community health workers (CHWs) play a vital role in connecting individuals and communities with necessary resources and services to improve health and well-being. They offer a wide range of services, including home visits, health education, informal counseling, case management, and advocacy for individual and community needs. CHWs also provide direct services like basic health screenings, first aid, and assistance with accessing medical and non-medical resources. Do you need Medicaid? Call your local health department because your CHW worker can get you signed up.
*SMART RECOVERY MEETINGS
Do you know what CHW’s can also do? They provide SMART recovery meetings as well. We can help you to build and maintain motivation to become a better version of you! We can help you figure out different ways to cope with urges. And don’t worry, we can help manage thoughts, feelings and behaviors so that you are able to live a balanced life. Don’t wait around for someone to do it for you or not do anything at all when there is someone willing to help you and guide you in the right direction.
