We celebrated our incredible volunteers today with a special appreciation lunch in their honor. We’re so thankful for those who give their time, compassion, and energy to support Carson Tahoe—including two volunteers who have dedicated an amazing 40 years. Your commitment makes a meaningful difference every day, and we’re so grateful for all you do.

Science, connection, and community came together as students explored the science of flight while learning powerful lessons about resilience and emotional well-being through Hot Air for Hope’s expanded school outreach program in partnership with Healing Our Kids & Community.

More than a hands-on experience, this program created space for connection, support, and meaningful conversations with students across our community.

We’re especially grateful to our team members who volunteered to help make it possible. Their time, energy, and heart help bring programs like this to life and expand the reach of youth mental health support in our region.

Because we can’t do this work alone. It takes a community.

This National Volunteer Week, we’re celebrating the 128 volunteers and 10 therapy dogs who give their time, compassion, and comfort across Carson Tahoe Health. We could not do what we do for our community without them.

From shuttle drivers and family waiting areas to spiritual support, clinical areas, cancer services, the emergency department, the gift shop, and pet therapy - our volunteers make a meaningful difference every day for our patients, families, and teams.

Investing in the future of care 🤍
Our own Kimberly, PA-C in Psychiatry, spoke with physician assistant students at the University of Nevada () on substance use evaluation and treatment, with a strong focus on the connection to mental health.

From screening and co-occurring conditions to evidence-based treatment options, students explored how integrated behavioral health care supports long-term recovery, followed by real-world case discussions.
Preparing the next generation to treat the whole person with knowledge and compassion.

We’re proud to share that Carson Tahoe Health has been named a 2026 Top Workplace by USA Today, building on our recognition as a 2025 Nevada Top Workplace. 💙

These honors are especially meaningful because they are based directly on feedback from our team. They reflect a culture rooted in support, growth, and a shared commitment to compassionate care. With more than 1,500 employees sharing their voice, and recognition among a select group of large employers in Nevada, this achievement truly belongs to our people.

Thank you for showing up every day for each other, our patients, and our community.

Everyone has a why… this is Alina’s 🤍
Her passion for supporting Behavioral Health Services comes from seeing the impact compassionate care can have on individuals and families in our community. It’s what inspired her to give back and be part of something bigger.

Start with your why.

Mental health care is evolving and new conversations are opening the door to innovative approaches for patients who need it most.

Dr. Tabaac, MD, FAHA, Neurologist at Carson Tahoe Health, is helping lead that conversation, bringing awareness to emerging therapies like psychedelic-assisted treatments, especially for patients who may not be responding to traditional therapies.

An evening rooted in gratitude, connection, and the stories that remind us why we do what we do ♥️

Our Grateful Heart Mixer brought together donors, caregivers, and community members for a special night of chocolate, wine, and meaningful moments. Throughout the evening, we reflected on the real impact of generosity—how each gift helps shape experiences, support healing, and touch lives across our community.

We’re deeply grateful to everyone who continues to show up, give back, and believe in what’s possible through the Carson Tahoe Health Foundation. Because of you, compassion continues to grow—one story, one patient, one moment at a time.
