Germs are everywhere. Make hand washing with soap and water a healthy habit to protect yourself
and your family from getting sick.

How? Follow these five steps every time:
Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.

Why?
According to the CDC, hand washing:
Reduces the number of people who get sick with diarrhea by 23-40%
Reduces diarrheal illness in people with weakened immune systems by 58%
Reduces respiratory illnesses, like colds, in the general population by 16-21%
Reduces absenteeism due to gastrointestinal illness in schoolchildren by 29-57%

Please see this link for helpful tips regarding the Corona Virus. These tips also apply to the flu virus which causes more deaths each year in the U.S. than the COVID-19 has been shown to cause. This is a distribution from the CDC and our local Public Health and local hospital, Carson-Tahoe Health. Hope you stay well.
