NAMI Western Nevada is incredibly grateful to have partnered with Candy Cane Lane for such a beautiful display of community, compassion, and holiday spirit. What an amazing season and an unforgettable night celebrating together!
We extend our sincere thanks to every neighbor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make Candy Cane Lane such a success. The es**rt of Santa and Mrs. Claus by the Douglas County and Storey County Sheriff’s Offices, with support from the Silent Riders, was a powerful reminder of what community collaboration looks like at its best.
Thanks to this incredible effort, $2,800 was raised for local animal shelters, along with an abundance of donated supplies. This generosity reflects the heart of our community and the true meaning of the season—looking out for one another and those who can’t speak for themselves. 🐾
We are honored to stand alongside partners like Candy Cane Lane, GID, GID Senior Center, Carson Valley Inn & Casino, law enforcement, volunteers, and so many caring community members. Together, you created joy, connection, and hope during the holidays.
Thank you for reminding us that community care and mental wellness begin with kindness, connection, and coming together. 💙

🐾 NAMI Western Nevada Staff & Board Member Pets Need Your Help This Holiday Season! 🐾🎄

At NAMI Western Nevada, our staff and board members know firsthand just how much love, comfort, and joy our pets bring into our lives. They’re our support systems, our best friends, and sometimes even our emotional anchors on the toughest days. Because we understand the powerful bond between people and animals, our hearts are especially full as we join Candy Cane Lane in supporting local animal shelters this holiday season.

Across Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey counties, countless animals are waiting for warmth, hope, and a second chance. By donating to Candy Cane Lane’s holiday drive, you’re helping ensure those animals receive the food, comfort, and care they need while they wait for their forever homes.

From wagging tails to gentle purrs, our own pets remind us every day that all animals deserve safety and love. That’s why this partnership means so much to us.

Items in high demand include:
-Cat & dog food (grain-free/chicken-free options welcome)
-Wet dog/cat/kitten food
-Treats, toys, blankets, and litter
-Leashes, harnesses, collars
-Small animal food
-Cleaning supplies, wipes, paper towels, laundry soap, bleach
-Potty pads, pill pockets, litter boxes

Every donation—big or small—brings warmth and comfort to animals who need it most.

Stop by Candy Cane Lane (Tourmaline Dr. & Mica Dr. in Carson City) Fridays–Sundays from 5–9 PM (and all Christmas week) to enjoy the magic of the lights, drop off donations, send a letter to Santa, and sip some hot chocolate or cider—all while helping our local shelters.

Our furry family members thank you. We thank you. And the shelters thank you.
