May is Arthritis Awareness Month. Arthritis refers to joint pain, inflammation & stiffness. There are more than 100 types of related conditions, however we’ll share an overview of the most common types of inflammatory arthritis.

Arthritis is the leading cause of disability in the US. As we age, arthritis can cause many physical limitations making it difficult to care for ourselves, loved ones and the up keep of our homes.

Last week we wrapped up our 3rd session of Heart Smart: Managing Hypertension! Our participants were dedicated, engaged and committed!

These classes are led by myself,a certified Hypertension Management Coach. Classes are held twice weekly x4 weeks for 1-1.5 hours and are free to participants.

We discuss physiology and risks of blood pressure, nutrition as it relates to blood pressure, medication & stress management and much more.

We wrapped up another 10 week session of SAIL classes! 💪🏾

Huge shoutout to our SAIL instructor Sandy! The class participants praised and raved about the impact of her presence and the benefits of this class.

This month we’re highlighting Parkinson’s Disease. Parkinson’s happens when the brain cells that produce dopamine, which is responsible for coordinating movement, stop working or dies.

It is a progressive movement disorder in which there is no cure. However, non movement problems such as, depression and memory can also develop.
