Due to March 1 being on a Sunday, the last day to register your dog/cat is Friday, February 27, to avoid late fees. Your registration MUST be received by that date. If you are unable to come in-person, a sliver drop box is located outside Borough Hall (61 Cooke Avenue.) If using the drop box, submissions must be received by Thursday night (February 26) to ensure your dog/cat is registered on time.

LAST CHANCE BEFORE LATE FEES. Late fees (25 dollars per animal) will begin March 1 and after.

Per state law, all dogs and cats residing in the Borough of Carteret must be licensed by seven months with the Carteret Health Department.

The application, proof of current rabies vaccination, and check/money order made out to the ‘Carteret Health Department’ is required when obtaining/renewing a license.

(Late fees are $25.00 per animal and begin March 1 and after.)

RENEWAL(S) -
Individual renewal notices will NOT be mailed. If the rabies vaccination is up to date then only the payment is needed. Please note the address and pet(s) name when renewing.

NEW PET(S) -
You will need the application, proof of a current rabies vaccination, spray/neuter certified (if applicable), valid ID, and the payment.
