Fearless, fast, and full of determination β€” Rosemary Smith broke barriers in the world of motorsport. Starting her career as a rally driver in the 1960s, she went on to become a racing champion and, in 2017, made history as the oldest person ever to drive a Formula 1 car β€” at 79 years old.
Though Rosemary is no longer with us, her spirit continues to inspire people of all ages to chase their dreams and defy expectations. Her story reminds us that courage doesn’t retire β€” it keeps driving forward.
At Comfort Keepers, we believe that anything is possible at any age. We celebrate those who live boldly, dream fully, and elevate the human spirit every step of the way. πŸ’™

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Thank a Veteran Thursday πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This week, we celebrate a remarkable achievement and a lifetime of service.

After serving 23 years in the U.S. Navy and continuing as a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), this dedicated veteran was recently awarded the VFW’s Gold Medal of Merit β€” one of the organization’s highest honors. At the VFW National Convention, he joined fellow veterans and leaders from across the country to discuss the critical work still ahead in serving our military community.

At Comfort Keepers, we are proud to honor and support veterans who have dedicated their lives not only to protecting our nation but also to uplifting and advocating for their fellow service members long after active duty. Through compassionate in-home care, companionship, and specialized support, we help ensure our heroes live with dignity, comfort, and respect.

πŸ’™ Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you to all veterans for your service and continued dedication to others.

At 92 years old, Harriette Thompson shattered expectations β€” and records β€” by becoming the oldest woman to complete a marathon. A cancer survivor and lifelong musician, she began running to raise funds for cancer research and ended up inspiring millions with her determination, grace, and unstoppable spirit.
Though Harriette is no longer with us, her legacy continues to run strong. Her courage, kindness, and perseverance remind us that the human spirit can outlast any finish line. πŸ’™
At Comfort Keepers, we celebrate extraordinary individuals like Harriette who prove that age is never a barrier to purpose or possibility. Because when we lead with passion, the human spirit truly can go the distance. πŸ’™

🌟 Exploring the Tellus Museum 🌟

A trip to the Tellus Museum is more than just an outing β€” it’s a chance to explore fascinating exhibits in science, history, and art all under one roof. From towering dinosaur skeletons to sparkling gems and hands-on displays, the museum sparks curiosity, conversation, and joy for visitors of all ages. Seniors especially enjoy the opportunity to engage with exhibits that bring back memories while also offering something new to discover.

At Comfort Keepers, we believe these experiences are so much more meaningful when shared. Our caregivers help make museum visits safe, comfortable, and enjoyable by providing companionship, support, and encouragement every step of the way. Whether it’s navigating the exhibits, pausing to rest, or simply sharing in the wonder of discovery, we ensure seniors can focus on what matters most β€” enjoying the moment. πŸ’™

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Thank a Veteran Thursday πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

This week, we honor two extraordinary Vietnam War heroes β€” Maj. John Duffy and Staff Sgt. Edward Kaneshiro β€” who were recently awarded the Medal of Honor for their incredible acts of valor.

Maj. Duffy, even after being wounded, continued to call in airstrikes from dangerously close positions to protect his fellow soldiers. Staff Sgt. Kaneshiro, with complete selflessness, single-handedly cleared an enemy trench so his men could withdraw safely β€” an act his children say continues to inspire them to β€œbe a better person, to be courageous and to have integrity.”

At the White House ceremony, President Biden said these awards were about β€œsetting the record straight” after more than 50 years, reminding us that β€œtime has not diminished their astonishing bravery, their selflessness in putting the lives of others ahead of their own, and the gratitude that we as a nation owe them.”

At Comfort Keepers, we proudly honor and care for veterans like Maj. Duffy and Staff Sgt. Kaneshiro. Through compassionate, personalized in-home support, we ensure those who sacrificed so much for our nation live with dignity, respect, and comfort.

πŸ’™ Thank you to these heroes, and to all veterans, for your courage, sacrifice, and enduring example of service.
