Making Amends
I was born and raised in Cartersville, Georgia. I group up for most of my life childhood in a two-parent household with a disabled veteran a working mother who to would become disabled. My childhood was no walk in the park and was forged with drug use, abuse and near death experiences for myself and for the members of the household. Like other children who have experienced trauma, I acted out; cussing, fighting, experimenting with drugs and alcohol and being a negative child. I did not know any better as these were my surroundings and this is how my brain had become hardwired: Nothing Good is going to come my way. Yet I was inspired by members of my community to take my childhood challenges, face them head on and use them to help others. In all the pain and hurt, I found a way to make Amends with my situation and walk in joy and peace that could only be provided by my trust God and my belief in something Greater!
We all have a background story that involves Joy and Sadness; Pleasure and Pain; Gain and Loss but we often do not share our stories as we have been taught to "get over it and move one." Yet I believe that one must go through it so to be aware of what has happened and to know what is not good for personal care. this may require that we take a look at not only our own issues but the issues of our surroundings and those who are in our spaces.
It is my belief that you can not mend everything but you can make Amends with all things. That is to say that all relationships cannot be saved but you can have peace of mind knowing that you have taking care of yourself and mending the ends so that you can move forward in a healthy state. At MLC consulting, let me help you through life’s adverse situations and start walking on your destined path to an abundant LIFE.
