At Willowbrook, we believe some of life’s most meaningful moments are found in the compassion, connection, and presence people share with one another.
Today, in honor of Social Work Month, we’re excited to celebrate Amanda (Mandy) Wigington Ledford, LMSW, whose heart for hospice care and dedication to others is felt across every corner of our team.
Mandy has been part of Willowbrook since October 2025, serving patients and families across all territories. She holds both a Bachelor and Master of Social Work and has felt called to hospice care since her graduate school internship. “From the moment I started, I knew I had found something special,” she shared. “I grew to love hospice deeply—the work, the families, the quiet honor of being present in life’s most important moments—and I never looked back.”
One of the moments Mandy cherishes most comes from time spent with a widowed patient who deeply needed companionship. What began as simply sitting with her during visits turned into something more—side by side, stitching and talking, forming a quiet and meaningful connection that has stayed with her ever since.
Mandy’s presence, both with the patients she serves and the team she supports, reflects the very heart of hospice care.
Happy Social Work Month, Mandy! We are so grateful for the compassion, leadership, and heart you bring to this work. 💙
