A message from Dr. Cripps 💚💙:
Over the past 4 years, I’ve had the privilege of treating and caring for this young man throughout his high school athletic career.
For 3 varsity sports, football, basketball, and baseball, he has consistently stepped into key roles for his team. When I work with an athlete, my goal is simple: keep them in the game when safely possible, or get them back on the field or court as quickly and safely as we can.
For J, showing up at his best for his team mattered. And keeping him performing through multiple seasons sometimes took trips back to the drawing board, adjustments to the game plan, and a true team effort between him, his family, and our office.
J has played through injuries that would have sidelined, or ended, the athletic careers of many. Together, we broke down biomechanics, proprioception, movement patterns, nerve conduction, and muscle firing to optimize performance, stability, and quick reaction time.
But here’s what stands out the most: J did the work.
Every single thing I asked him to do, he did. He showed up for appointments, trusted the treatment process, committed to his rehab, and gave honest feedback so we could pivot when needed. That level of discipline and coachability is rare.
Today, J is pitching in the State Tournament.
What an honor it has been to be a small part of this journey.
J Foster, I’m proud of you. And to his incredible parents, thank you for trusting me and our team to care for your son and support him through the highs and challenges of athletics.
The greatest compliment I can ever receive is the trust of a family, especially when it comes to caring for their children.
Good luck to the Gordonsville Tigers Baseball Team! I'm cheering you on.
