“Amazing staff, they always take the time to listen to your concerns as a parent, they are thorough with their evaluations & always make sure you know how to treat your child once you leave whether it’s with or without medication. I have been bringing my kids here since they were newborn babies & I love the relationship that they have with all of my kids!”

🩺 Post 4: Yearly Physicals – Your Annual Tune-Up

Think of your body like your car—yearly checkups keep it running smooth.
A physical isn’t just a formality. It’s how we catch health issues before they become problems.

👨‍⚕️ What a yearly physical can do:
• Track blood pressure, weight, and cholesterol
• Update your vaccines (hello, tetanus booster!)
• Screen for conditions like diabetes or anemia
• Open the door to mental health conversations

📅 Haven’t booked yours yet this year? Let’s fix that.

"🛼 Post 3: Helmet Safety – Protect the Noggin!
Heads up! A helmet reduces the risk of serious head injury by up to 85% during a bike crash.

🚴 Whether it’s bikes, scooters, skateboards, or ATVs—helmets aren’t optional. They're lifesavers.

✔️ Make sure the helmet fits snug and low
✔️ Replace it after any big impact
✔️ Let kids pick their style—if they love it, they’ll wear it!

💬 Pro tip from NSHA: “Strap it before you snap it!” No helmet, no ride.

"Adult & Young Adult Immunizations - Your Health Doesn’t Graduate with You 🎓

Even after high school or college, vaccines continue to matter. Whether you're starting a new job, traveling, or living with a chronic condition, routine immunizations protect your health and those around you.

👥 Vaccines adults may need:
• Flu (yearly)
• COVID-19 boosters
• Tdap (every 10 years)
• Hepatitis A & B
• HPV (if not completed in adolescence)
• Mpox & meningitis for certain risk groups

✅ Ask your healthcare provider what you may have missed or be due for.
Prevention is powerful.

We're excited about the new treatment option for osteoarthritis offered at the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center!

New Option for Osteoarthritis Relief at the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center!

The Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center, under the direction of Dr. David Boyce, Radiation Oncologist, now offers Low-Dose Radiation Therapy (LDRT) as a non-invasive treatment option for patients with osteoarthritis in the shoulders, knees, hips, hands, and feet. We are proud to bring this advanced option to the North Country. LDRT uses gentle, pinpointed radiation to help calm joint inflammation, ease pain, and improve movement in a safe and comfortable setting.

This approach has been used successfully in other parts of the world for many years, especially in Europe, and is gaining recognition here in the United States. By targeting inflamed tissues, LDRT can help quiet the processes that cause pain and stiffness, giving joints a chance to function more freely.

Treatments are quick and easy, lasting less than 10 minutes, with no surgery, no incisions, and no needles. Side effects are rare and usually very mild. Many patients experience meaningful, lasting relief, often for longer periods than some injection therapies provide.

Why patients choose LDRT:

Research shows that a majority of patients experience noticeable pain reduction and improved joint mobility after treatment.

Patients often share stories of regaining independence and returning to activities they love.

LDRT may be worth considering if:
• You have moderate to severe osteoarthritis symptoms
• Other treatments have not been effective enough
• You want to avoid or delay joint replacement surgery

Talk with your doctor about whether LDRT could be right for you. Our goal is to help you feel better, move more easily, and enjoy life to the fullest.
