DeShana Hill serves as a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant at Panola County Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she plays a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In her position, DeShana works closely under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Her responsibilities include guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, assisting with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility, and using adaptive equipment to promote safety and independence. She carefully monitors patient progress, documents outcomes, and communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and quality of care. DeShana’s work often involves supporting individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery, as well as those managing chronic conditions that impact their functional abilities.

In addition to her work in a skilled nursing facility, DeShana brings valuable experience from the fields of pediatric and adult home health, as well as intensive inpatient rehabilitation. Through her home health experience, she has provided one-on-one care in patients’ homes, helping them adapt their environments and routines to maintain independence. Her work in pediatrics has allowed her to support children in developing essential motor, sensory, and daily living skills, while her experience with adult populations has focused on restoring function and improving participation in meaningful activities.

Her background in intensive inpatient rehabilitation further highlights her ability to work with patients who require a higher level of care and more rigorous therapy programs. In these settings, she has contributed to helping individuals recover from significant medical events such as strokes, traumatic injuries, and surgeries, supporting their journey toward regaining strength, coordination, and independence.

DeShana Hill’s diverse experience across multiple care settings demonstrates her adaptability, compassion, and commitment to patient-centered care. Her dedication to the occupational therapy profession and her patients makes her an invaluable asset to Panola County Nursing and Rehabilitation and the broader healthcare community.
