Aloha!🌺

We decided to host a Hawaiian-themed party in mid-October while the North Carolina weather is still beautiful! Tonight, we enjoyed a delicious Hawaiian dinner and desserts outdoors. The evening featured lively Hawaiian dancers, and everyone showed up in their best vacation gear. Toward the end of the night, residents joined in and learned some Hawaiian dance moves together — such a sweet and joyful way to end the evening!

Did you know October is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of Polish Americans in culture, science, art and more?

Our Taste Poland event celebrated the rich flavors of Central Europe, featuring classic dishes like pierogies topped with caramelized onions, kielbasa served alongside cucumber salad, hearty potatoes with sauerkraut, and a traditional Polish cake for dessert.

To make the evening even more special, one of our talented staff members, Allison, performed songs in Polish, adding a heartfelt and cultural touch to the experience!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

Books are better when shared with friends! 📚

Our Page Turners Social Series event was a great success, bringing together our resident book lovers for an afternoon of engaging conversation and delicious snacks.

We were honored to welcome Marjorie K. Eastman, award-winning author of The Frontline Generation: How We Served Post 9/11. She shared powerful stories from her book and gave an inspiring presentation on her experiences in the military.

We had an amazing time on our Jordan Lake boat tour! We learned all about the local wildlife and the lake’s history, all while enjoying the fresh air and each other’s company.

We celebrated in true Bavarian spirit with traditional Oktoberfest entertainment from Flobone (flute + trombone), delicious Oktoberfest beer, and festive foods. Prost to great music, good company, and even better memories!

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we savored the flavors of Guatemala. Known as the birthplace of chocolate, Guatemalan cuisine blends Mayan tradition with Spanish influences to create vibrant and tasty dishes.

On the menu: pipián chicken, beef enchiladas, refried black beans, yuca fries, and pastel borracho (drunken cake). To drink, we had horchata and hibiscus water.

After the meal, we watched a Guatemalan travel documentary that highlighted some of the country’s most breathtaking natural and cultural wonders.

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

Last week, we had the joy of attending the North Carolina Senior Games Cheerleading Competition to cheer on our very own resident, Barbara, as she and her squad performed!

The cheer competition is just one event among others like track and field, swimming, pickleball, arts, dance, and more.

Winners at the local level can qualify for the North Carolina State Finals, and from there, some go on to the National Senior Games.

What an honor it was to watch her compete!

Winner winner chicken dinner!

♠️🎰Our Casino Royale Social Series event was a full house. With retro-Vegas vibes, games galore and special prizes, everyone was a winner!

A special thank you to Casino Party Aces for hosting an exciting afternoon of tabletop games! Residents had a blast playing blackjack and roulette.

Congratulations to our top winners for racking up the highest scores! While the games were in full swing, everyone enjoyed a sweet selection of desserts and classic Vegas-style hors d'oeuvres, including shrimp cocktail.

It was definitely an afternoon to remember!
