The Examination is the first step in our method for reaching your physical therapy goals. The most obvious and most necessary part of the rehabilitation process is determining why you are in pain, what you can and cannot do, and the key players involved. This is the most crucial part of the heeling process- if generalizations are made or specific areas are not examined, everything that follows will either be ineffective or will result in temporary relief. ChatGPT and social media are good places for information… but every body is different!

From the moment an injury takes place, the body begins to adapt in order to help the system (your, muscles, joints, nerves) attempt to normalize. Everyone’s body will have a different response to injury. Pain responses and abnormal movement patterns occur almost immediately so the longer you wait, the more the system may adapt in this abnormal way. Over the next week I will be discussing the processes we use to find the source of the problem and how we can get the system to work the way it should!

Sometimes we struggle with painful movements because the muscles aren’t responding to the messages our brain may be sending them! 🤔

An injured muscle or dormant muscle that is not performing a specific role in movement may need stimulation to get the muscle working normal again. Dry needling is a perfect method treatment to get those muscles firing again! 💪
