It has been a while since I posted anything paranormal. All last year I was being treated Feb-Aug with chemo and radiation for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in my neck and abdomen. Thereafter from a clear PET scan I started physical therapy. I lost a lot of muscle and found I had nerve damage to my hands and elbow. To repair the nerve damage I needed surgery on both hands and my left elbow. During the first surgery on my right hand, the surgeon found tumor like growths attached to my nerves. He did something he never does. He took tissue samples and sent for biopsy testing. I was diagnosed with a rare condition that affects the nerves, the kidneys and the heart. Testing was done on my heart, and this stuff was attached to it. The condition is called Amyloidosis. It hardens and shrinks organs and damages nerves. The heart specialist at Duke told the orthopaedic his decision to biopsy saved my life. By the time this would have been discovered I would have been in heart failure. The type I have is treatable with medication.

Cardiac amyloidosis is a buildup of abnormal proteins in the tissues of the heart that affect its function.
