Gathering Home Water Birth Supplies!

One of the things about home births is there is a lot of work that we put in to prepare ourselves for the big birth day. We have to not only attend all the prenatal appointments but we need to gather supplies for birth and postpartum.

Now with this being baby number 4 I have learned quite a bit. Some things that I will need a lot of like organic pads, diapers (for baby and myself), supplements and items I will need multiple of I get them on subscription from amazon to be delivered monthly starting at the beginning of my 2nd trimester so I can spread out the expenses plus save a little money. Things like towels and other miscellaneous items that ai already have from either regular house hold items or they were left over from the last birth I just gather together about 3 months before my due date. In my last 2 months I check off any outlier items that I still need and start planning for postpartum.

So blessed to be welcoming our 4th child soon in August. I have enjoyed this journey and been getting all of the things ready for us to have another home birth in our birth pool in the back yard.

We will have our midwife team , birth photographer .co , baby whisperer , my mom and fellow birth worker friend all here to support us.

I will be on maternity leave for a while resting and caring for my new baby. I will still be offering encapsulation services during that time.

This month I am going to be on call through the holidays. So thankful to have such a wonderful support system that allows for me to fulfill my passion for home birthing families. Have a prenatal visit this weekend followed by triple checking my birth bag and placenta encapsulation supplies.

What is placenta encapsulation? Placenta encapsulation is where you dehydrate the placenta after which it is ground up and put into capsules for the birth mother to take postpartum.
