Welcome to NeuroFiT Connections. 🧠 This is where we help kids who are struggling with focus, behavior, reading, and regulation finally start making real progress.

We are a Certified Melillo MethodÂŽ Practitioner clinic, using a combination of movement, primitive reflex integration, sensory input, and brain-based training to target the root cause, not just the symptoms. Here we get real results for ADHD, ASD, Dyslexia and more.

Every room, tool, and exercise is intentional.
The goal isn’t to “manage” challenges… it’s to build the brain systems that make learning, focus, and emotional control easier.

Families travel from across North Carolina to work with us because they’re looking for answers, not more guesswork.

If you’ve been told to “wait and see” or feel like something is being missed… you’re not alone.

This might look simple but it’s training how the brain controls the eyes. 🧠 We had him do this for 60 seconds a day, keeping his eyes locked on a target while moving his head side to side.

👁 Builds visual stability so the eyes don’t lose place while reading
🧠 Trains the brain to separate eye movement from head movement
📚 Supports focus, tracking, and reading comprehension

If this system is weak, kids may skip lines, lose their place, or struggle to stay focused.

In the Melillo Method, we target these gaps directly so the brain can process information more efficiently.

Most parents are told to practice reading more.
Very few are told to train the visual system behind it.

Many kids are living in a constant state of sensory overload.

Sounds, lights, movement, expectations, it all stacks up.
And when the brain can’t filter input efficiently yet, everything hits at full volume.

That’s when behavior falls apart.

Not because of attitude.
Because the nervous system is overwhelmed.

This is what emotional dysregulation actually looks like.

It’s not a discipline issue.
And it’s not something they can just “control.”

Regulation comes before self-control. Always.

Until the brain learns how to process and organize input, meltdowns will keep happening.

This is where progress can quietly stall. Not because parents aren’t trying and not because kids aren’t capable.

But because the input isn’t consistent enough or specific enough.

On the Inchstones with Sarah podcast Coach Jackie explained it clearly:
“These reflexes need to be done every day.”

That level of consistency is what actually changes the brain.

Not once a week.
Not occasionally.
Not when you remember.

Daily, targeted input.

That’s the difference between temporary improvement and real, lasting change.

If you’ve ever felt like you hit a plateau, this conversation explains why.

This might look like a simple balance test… but it reveals a lot about the brain. 🧠

Here’s why:

⚖️ Balance = brain function
Balancing relies on the vestibular system (inner ear), which is directly tied to focus, coordination, and emotional regulation.

🧠 Brain-body connection
To stay upright, the brain has to process sensory input, coordinate muscles, and maintain control all in real time.

🚨 What we look for
If a child struggles to hold this for 10 seconds, it can be a sign that foundational systems are underdeveloped.

That can show up as:
• Difficulty focusing
• Constant movement or fidgeting
• Poor coordination
• Trouble sitting still

This isn’t about athletic ability.
It’s about neurological development.

Here’s why…👇

What you’re seeing is a Rooting Reflex integration exercise using a gentle vibration tool (Rezzimax).

We move it from the corner of the mouth to the other to help the brain reduce automatic reflex responses and build control.

When this reflex is still active the brain may still be acting like it did in infancy which can affect speech, feeding, attention, and emotional control.

This exercise helps the brain shift from reflexive reactions to intentional control.

To help integrate the rooting reflex at home you can try:
✅ Gently rub cheeks from mouth to ear for 30 seconds
✅ Blow bubbles or cotton balls
✅ Practice exaggerated facial movements
✅ Slow chewing with crunchy foods

Most parents work on symptoms.
Very few address the reflexes underneath.

When you walk into this space, my hope is that you feel it right away, you’re not alone here.

This is a place where your child is understood, supported, and truly believed in. Being part of your journey is something I never take lightly.

If you know a family who’s looking for answers or a place that feels different, we’re here to help. 👇

Screens aren’t neutral. They stimulate the brain in very specific ways.

Most screens heavily activate the left side of the brain, the side for fast thinking, details, and language.
But the right side, responsible for regulation, emotional control, and body awareness, gets less input.

Over time, that imbalance grows.

This isn’t about guilt or cutting screens completely.
It’s about understanding what the brain actually needs to stay balanced.

Without enough movement, rhythm, and real-world interaction, development can drift and the symptoms often show up later.

A 15-year-old still dealing with infant reflexes. That shouldn’t happen. But it does, more often than people realize.

On the Inchstones with Sarah podcast, Coach Jackie said:
“Why do I have a 15-year-old in my office with primitive reflexes? That should not happen.”

When early development gets skipped or incomplete,
the brain keeps compensating.

And those patterns don’t just disappear with age.

They show up later as:
• Focus issues
• Emotional dysregulation
• Learning struggles
• Coordination challenges

The diagnosis might change over time but the root often doesn’t.

This episode breaks that down in a way most parents have never heard before.

Most parents are doing everything they’ve been told…
and still not seeing real progress.

In this episode, we break down what’s actually happening in your child’s brain and why focus, behavior, and emotional struggles aren’t random.

This is the part no one explains:
It’s not just what you do… it’s whether you’re targeting the right system.

If you’ve ever felt like something isn’t adding up, this will connect the dots.

Hanging from a bar might look simple… but it’s powerful brain training. 🧠 Here’s what’s actually happening:

🧠 Proprioceptive input
Hanging sends strong sensory input through the joints and muscles, helping the brain understand where the body is in space, which can reduce overwhelm and improve regulation.

🫁 Breath and nervous system
It naturally slows breathing and helps shift the body out of stress mode into a more regulated state.

⚡ Brain coordination
Grip, shoulders, and core all work together, strengthening communication between both sides of the brain.

🌪 Less fidget, more focus
Kids with ADHD often seek movement. Hanging gives high input in a controlled way, which calms instead of overstimulates.

Just 60 seconds a day can support focus, coordination, and emotional regulation.
