Dr. Bartels maintains a specialty medical practice serving Central and Eastern North Carolina dedicated to serving the needs of patients who are or have been obese or overweight. In the treatment of the disease of obesity Dr. Bartels tailors a diet program specifically for you using several modalities which always include diet and exercise and which can also include the use of medications when appropriate. We have seen a wide range of patients from all walks of life. On one extreme we see patients who have been overweight in the past but who need help maintaining their weight. On the other extreme, we see people who are over 400 pounds above their ideal weight. Over the past twenty years we have helped thousands of men and women lose a significant amount of weight and keep it off!
