Dr. Zain Husain grew up in northern New Jersey and began his medical career by earning his medical degree at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He then completed his dermatology residency at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C., where he served as chief resident in his final year. Our Story

Zain Husain, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs micrographic surgeon. His areas of special interest are skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS) and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).

Dr. Husain began his medical education when he was accepted into the highly competitive accelerated 7-year BS/MD program with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He graduated with top academic honors from medical school and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He then completed his dermatology residency at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC, where he served as chief resident in his final year.

Dr. Husain’s dedication to his patients and profession prompted him to complete a dual fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and cosmetic dermatology at Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. There, he received extensive training in advanced skin cancer surgery and reconstruction as well as cosmetic procedures including injectables, body contouring, and laser surgery. Following his fellowship, Dr. Husain worked in private practice in Washington, DC where he also served as a clinical instructor at the George Washington University School of Medicine teaching dermatology residents.

Dr. Husain has, and continues to deliver lectures on dermatologic topics at national conferences and has authored numerous articles in prestigious peer-reviewed medical journals. He is committed to life-long learning and is an active member of professional dermatology societies including the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS).
