NCBDA was formed with the purpose of advocating social, health, and civil rights issues for black individuals within the deaf community. Empowerment and overall well-being are paramount to the success of the black deaf community, and NCBDA strives to achieve these goals. To better inform ourselves and the community about the rights and responsibilities of Black Deaf citizens

To identify, examine, and disseminate information related to the impact of social, economic, education, health, political, and religious issues through the medium of panel, lectures, and workshop

To encourage increase in leadership development and employment opportunities for Black Deaf persons throughout the nation and to further their potential.
