We are very excited to announce our newest addition to the KCW team! Meet Corinna Young!

My personal philosophy of counseling begins and ends with compassion and empathy. In therapy I walk alongside clients on their journey to healing. As someone who has overcome various difficult circumstances I feel that I have a genuine heart and a listening ear to understand where clients are coming from. I have previous experience working with children, teens, and adolescents, as a Professional School Counselor. I also work with young adults and support them during life transitions.

I believe that the healing experience encompasses the whole person - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I provide counseling that cultivates growth, healing, and restoration by helping clients feel seen, heard, and safe. The modalities that I use when working with clients include; CBT, mindfulness, solution focused, person centered, rational emotive, and behavior modification techniques.

As a counselor, I support clients in the process of overcoming obstacles and helping them to unlock their limitless potential. Ultimately, I strive to encourage the client to work on being comfortable with choosing the paths and directions that are best and most effective for them. It is my desire to inspire, empower, and encourage my clients to find mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical healing.

โ€œExperiencing emotional or physical abuse is so isolating, and this book reads like a trusted friend."
-Mario Guido, Executive Editor of ScaryMommy.com

If a survivor of domestic violence and a trauma-informed therapist could speak to survivors of abuse, what wisdom would they provide? In this ground-breaking book, Kendall Ann Combs, a survivor of domestic violence, and Dr. Amelia Kelley, an expert in psychology, seek to answer questions and provide resources for those who have experienced abuse. Ms. Combs shares her experience of being in an abusive relationship while Dr. Kelley provides trauma-informed techniques and easy to implement strategies to support everyone who has experienced a toxic, unhealthy, abusive relationship.

This book is a must read for anyone who has survived abuse and those who support survivors of relationship abuse.
