Another Hometown Days Parade is in the books 🎉

Our residents were all smiles this weekend as they joined department heads to toss candy and koozies into the crowd. Thank you to our amazing community for cheering them on and keeping this hometown tradition so special! ❤️

Meet Dodie, our August resident spotlight! 🌟

A lifelong music lover from Stillman Valley, Illinois, Dodie spent her career as a music teacher. She was a pioneer in the field of music therapy, working in a mental health hospital where she used music to bring comfort and healing. These days, you can still find Dodie playing piano and singing!

One of her most special memories is traveling overseas with her best friend and roommate after their husbands passed. On one trip to Scotland, Dodie met her pen pal of over 60 years in person for the very first time!

Her advice to younger generations? “Get yourself a good pen pal. They're fun, interesting, and often from different environments or cultures—so you learn something!”

Training days don’t have to be ALL serious—just ask our residents who loved cheering on nursing staff during “Tie Dye Target Practice” as part of their Annual Skills Fair! 🎯 Another fun way to strengthen our commitment to excellent care.
