Rather than use the oven frequently, I fill it to the walls once a week with roasts, casseroles, fruit compote, baked potatoes and squashes...anything I have on hand...cooking day itself is heaven, and with the addition of salads and fresh fruits, we cut energy use substantially. This is a practice I picked up years ago from Tasha Tudor...keep thinking and feel free to share tips and tricks as we work together for the common good...xo...h...!
