There has been a lot of media coverage the last few days about happenings at the CDC, particularly surrounding vaccines. There have been several reports of counterfeit car seats from places like Temu, Shein, TikTok. and even amazon. If you have purchased a car seat from these places, please check out this article.
And remember if the cost seems surprisingly low for something like a car seat, it is likley not real.

Counterfeit car seats are on the rise. To protect your child, follow these suggestions to avoid accidentally purchasing an imitation car seat.

NEW GRANT OPPORTUNITY FOR FOSTER FAMILIES!
Do you have a child in foster care who resides in Madison, St. Clair County, Bond, Macoupin, Clinton or Jersey county? Equipping the Called is honored to be the recipient of a grant from The Lanter Family Foundation. The funds will cover up to $100 as a mini scholarship for a variety of qualifying extracurricular activities. For anything above $100, the foster family will need to pay the difference. This grant will not cover daycare or special camps affiliated with day care. Some possible ideas are sports camps, a YMCA session, art camp, theatre camp, museum camps and more. All the studies have shown that arts education and participation in the arts helps kids to thrive! We are happy to support SIUE Friends of Theater and Dance (FOTAD)! Their next show, School of Rock, is playing July 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27 at Dunham Hall at SIUE. It’s going to be great so check it out!
