Happy International Men's Day! According to the 19th and the Guardian, men absolutely care about access to abortion. “What’s true for Gen Z men is true across the board: By enormous margins they don’t want to hear from politicians about abortion. They want to hear from people like them,” said Lauren Collins Peterson, the CEO of Abortion in America.

Not only that, but Men need to access abortion as well! They deserve the right to choose what's gender-affirming care. Transmen and transmasc people have always existed and always will. Ensuring they have the access to reproductive health care including hrt, contraceptives, and abortion is important.

DND idea: Clinic vs Mimic.
Having a center just to prevent people from accessing reproductive care is pretty messed up. Crisis Pregnancy Centers not only actively work to prevent abortion care, but also: Prenatal care of expectant parents and birth control. Many tout fertility awareness as a form of birth control but guess what? People's bodies are not all the same, you can get pregnant on your period, and abstinence only perspectives are centered around shame. People need to access reproductive care for a plethora of reasons. We hope that this post can help you identify, call out, and/or avoid coming face to face with these centers.

Happy Native American Heritage Month. Here is another set of facts centered on abortion access and Indigenous Communities. We’ve watched communities be decimated through forced sterilization, experimentation, poverty, hunger, and federally sanctioned violence that stays in the body for generations. Indigenous people have been continuously stripped of their reproductive choice and bodily autonomy, so efforts towards reparations must also include reproductive care.

Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs) are fake centers designed to obstruct and prevent people from accessing reproductive healthcare. They're manned by unlicensed volunteers and are a health risk to the community. These intentionally misleading centers will open near abortion clinics or other reproductive health clinics with the purpose of spreading medical misinformation and empty promises of conditional aid. With the CARE Act proposed, these centers could have unchecked freedom to spread medical misinformation.

Here is the reality of abortions unmasked from the fear. At the end of the day, abortions are medical procedures. Accessible and safe abortions are life-lines for many people, not some gore-filled horror movie. The real horror comes when people are prevented from accessing necessary medical care.

Here are some cozy and comforting ways to take care of yourself after having an abortion be it medicated or procedural! Pain that you can expect is similar to period pain and will depend person to person. For in-office procedures we offer both oral and I.V. administered anti-anxiety and pain medication. Early procedural abortion averages about 10 minutes! Talk with doctors for better information on what your body requires.
