If you have severe heartburn or GERD, Wyoming Surgical Associates now offers a minimally invasive solution that provides relief without interfering with your body's natural functions.

The LINX system consists of a small, flexible ring of magnetic titanium beads that is placed around the lower esophageal sphincter. The device reinforces the natural reflux barrier while still allowing normal swallowing, eating, and drinking.

What is the LINX Reflux Management System?

The minimally invasive treatment uses an implant designed to support the body’s natural defense against reflux. The LINX device consists of a small, flexible ring of magnetic titanium beads that is placed around the lower esophageal sphincter. The device is uniquely fit to you and reinforces the natural reflux barrier while still allowing normal esophagus function.

Compared to traditional anti-reflux surgeries, the LINX procedure does not permanently alter the stomach’s anatomy, and many patients experience shorter recovery times. Read more about this procedure at https://bit.ly/4aq4dHO

Are you at risk for colon cancer? Knowing the risk factors can help you take preventative action.

If you have a personal or family history of colorectal cancer, polyps, inflammatory bowel disease, certain genetic syndromes (like Lynch syndrome), are over 50 years old, are African American or Ashkenazi Jewish, have diabetes, or have significant lifestyle factors like obesity, you may be at higher risk for colon cancer.

The best course of action? Talk with your relatives about family history, talk with your doctor about your personal health and risk, and get screened. Preventive screenings, like colonoscopies, help detect cancer early, leading to better outcomes.
