LaCROSSe Out Violence & Su***de is a one-day clinic that pairs lacrosse training with real tools for emotional strength, resilience, and connection.

Youth in grades 3 through high school will learn how to thrive on and off the field with guidance from mental health professionals, seasoned coaches, and trusted mentors.

Amanda Balo’s story is one of determination, empathy, and continuous growth. With 16 years of experience in patient care, Amanda currently serves as a Certified Medical Assistant and X-ray Technician at McGinley Clinic, where her impact is felt daily by patients and peers alike.

Amanda began her healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant, learning firsthand what it means to care with compassion. “My journey in healthcare began with a simple but powerful desire: to help others,” Amanda says. That simple desire has become a remarkable legacy of dedication across multiple specialties including geriatrics, family medicine, pediatrics, and her true passion—orthopedics.

At McGinley Clinic, Amanda supports both clinical and radiologic care. She assists with orthopedic procedures, manages patient follow-up and education, coordinates referrals, and performs high-quality diagnostic X-rays. Her patients are more than appointments; they are people she advocates for, comforts, and supports with consistent care and empathy.

But Amanda’s leadership goes beyond the exam room. She is known for her initiative, work ethic, and resourcefulness. She’s created procedural reference guides to support her colleagues, stepped in during high-pressure situations, and personally invested in tools that help the entire team succeed.

Outside of the clinic, Amanda is a powerful advocate for the conditions that have affected her family: Chiari malformation, Spina Bifida, and Hydrocephalus. Amanda and her youngest son both live with Chiari malformation and have undergone decompression surgeries—experiences that have shaped her into a passionate voice for awareness, education, and support. She regularly participates in blood drives, volunteers at local health fairs, and donates books to community “neighborhood libraries” to promote literacy and kindness.

Her volunteer service also includes time spent with a rural fire department providing EMS support—an experience that broadened her understanding of urgent and underserved care.

Amanda’s story is still unfolding. She recently earned her Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist certification and plans to continue advancing her education in the field of radiology. “I am proud of where I started, deeply dedicated to where I am, and inspired by the path still ahead,” she says.
