Motor City is next for Round 6 of the Indy NXT Championship, and Lochie arrives in Detroit carrying momentum off the back of his best weekend of the season.

After a difficult start to 2026, the McGinley Clinic backed Andretti entry went to Indianapolis and put in a drive that showed exactly what he is capable of. Starting from pole and controlling Race 1 for the majority of the distance, only a late-race switch to wet conditions denied him the win, with Lochie calling the second place result a clear step in the right direction. He sits fifth in the standings heading into a circuit that is likely to suit him more than most in the field, given he is the only driver inside the top five with previous race experience on the streets of downtown Detroit.

With the championship fight compressed to just 16 points across the top four, a strong run on Sunday could put him right back in the conversation for the title.

The Indy NXT Championship rolls into Indianapolis for Rounds 5 and 6, and Lochie could hardly ask for a better venue to kick his 2026 season back into gear.

Seventh in the standings after a tougher than expected start to the year, the Road Course has been a happy place for him in recent seasons, delivering multiple wins including one here last year. A top three in official testing since the last round has sharpened his confidence and confirmed the pace is there.

Two races this weekend means a big swing of points on offer in the first double header of the season. The opportunity to make a real statement in the championship hunt does not get much clearer than this.
