May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

This is your reminder that mental health is not optional—it impacts how you think, feel, behave, and cope with life.
You don’t have to be in crisis to take it seriously.
You don’t have to wait until things fall apart to start paying attention.
This month, focus on:
✔ Being more honest with yourself
✔ Not avoiding what’s uncomfortable
✔ Reaching out instead of isolating
You’re allowed to struggle. You’re also responsible for doing something about it.

💭 May 4 – “I’m Fine” Isn’t Always Fine
A lot of people say “I’m fine” because it’s easier than explaining what’s actually going on.
Functioning doesn’t equal healthy.
You can go to work, take care of others, and still be mentally exhausted.
Pay attention to:
– Irritability
– Emotional numbness
– Constant overthinking
– Avoidance
Those are signs something needs attention—not something to push through.

Stop Minimizing
“If it was that bad, I’d be worse.”
That mindset keeps people stuck.
Minimizing your experience doesn’t make you stronger—it keeps you from getting help.
If it’s impacting your sleep, mood, relationships, or ability to cope…
It matters.

Are you ready to take your first steps on the road to recovery? We are here to help you, every step of the way.

This week, Wyoming Behavioral Institute was proud to partner with for a mental health professional "meet and greet" at Central Wyoming College in Fremont County.

The event created an opportunity to connect with licensed mental health professionals serving Lander, Riverton, and Wind River communities while sharing resources for individuals in need of mental health and substance use treatment support. Wyoming Behavioral Institute offers a virtual mental health intensive outpatient program for teens, and Wyoming Recovery provides virtual intensive outpatient substance use treatment for adults.

✨ Wyoming Recovery Welcomes a New Community Partner ✨

We are excited to welcome Cassandra Rose to the Wyoming Recovery community! Cassandra will be offering a new wellness class for our clients specializing in Sound Bath Therapy, a powerful practice that uses vibration and sound to support relaxation, emotional regulation, and nervous system healing.

Cassandra joins us from Diamond in the Rough 307, a Casper-based spiritual wellness space known for its chakra-tuned crystal sound baths and creative workshops. Her work focuses on helping people reconnect with calm, balance, and inner awareness — all valuable tools in the recovery journey.

Sound bath sessions use soothing tones and vibrations from crystal singing bowls to help quiet the mind, reduce stress, and promote deep relaxation. Many people in recovery find this type of practice helpful for grounding, mindfulness, and emotional healing.

We are grateful to Cassandra for sharing her gifts with our clients and expanding the wellness opportunities available at Wyoming Recovery.

💙 Community Spotlight & Gratitude 💙

We want to take a moment to thank PrairieWifeInHeels.com for using her platform to share honest, important information about alcohol addiction.

So many people struggle quietly. As she shared, more than 90% of individuals battling alcoholism don’t believe they need treatment. That denial isn’t weakness, it’s part of the disease. Posts like this help break stigma, increase awareness, and open the door to real conversations.

Recognizing the signs early can change the entire trajectory of someone’s life and their family’s life.

At Wyoming Recovery, we believe education saves lives. We are grateful for community members who are willing to speak up and shine light on difficult topics.

Because we recover together and we spread awareness together as a community.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Our case managers are available to provide confidential, no-cost evaluations and support.

📞 Call us 24/7 at (307) 265-3791

Together, we build awareness.
Together, we build recovery.
Together, we heal.
