The Winter Solstice is this Sunday December 21. The dichotomy that the Solstice marks the first official day of winter but also welcomes the lengthening of days has us reflecting on the dichotomies in Yoga. Sthira & Sukham (Ease & Effort), Purusha & Prakriti (Spirit & Matter), Body & Mind, Judgment & Discernment, Integration, Not Elimination. Yoga is working with opposites to bring them to whole revealing a deeper more unified truth.

Strength and cardio conditioning:
This 50 minute fitness class is designed to build strength and stamina to compliment your yoga practice. Using various light weights, resistance bands, and fun repeated drills, you will work to increase your heart rate while engaging in mindful movement. This class is suitable for all levels.

Fall has been coming at us so fast we missed the beginning of November and didn't even realize it! Felt like there should be another week after Halloween and before the start of November! Anyone else feel like this?

Come slow down with us! We have a great line up of teachers for Saturday's at 10am. Now we offer a vinyasa flow with Kathy Verstegen at 12pm every Saturday!

Backbends week here and this is the perfect opportunity to share this variation of a drop back that posted a while back.

💡Some tips: if I’m remembering correctly I believe she used the rope wall as well but it’s not necessary. You can stretch the arms up to get length in the side body and the hands at the hips and elbows squeeze back and in to help lift the upper back.
After many repetitions I do find it necessary to get the toes turned under and balls of the feet to the floor. This action will help you move the p***s forward but you also need it to get your feet to the ground once you start dropping back!!

⚠️Practice safely and have a spotter if dropping back is new to you!

Halloween Glow Flow 👽 Monday, Oct 27 👽 630pm with Miranda

Join us in the studio to celebrate Halloween in a fun and festive way - with Glow Yoga! This event is for all of our fun loving yogis to come together for a night of yoga, music, neon and black lights that will make your soul GLOW!
Come dressed in your whitest and brightest clothing. Plan to arrive early to add some glow in the dark accessories so you will glow and flow under the black lights through this all levels Vinyasa yoga class.

Stay after for a pumpkin carving/painting pot luck! BYOP (bring your own 🎃) and a dish to share! We will provide the rest!

On this we want to send a HUGE thank you to all the students who attended the donation classes during July to support the victims of the Texas Hill Country Flooding. The Center Point Fire Department has been instrumental in the recovery and rebuilding process. The community at Yoga Kurunta is holding everyone who was affected by these floods in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.
