My philosophy, and therefore my aim in being a doula and/or childbirth educator, is the experience itself. It belongs to the mother and her partner alone. To be able to enjoy this time, moms have to understand what is happening to their bodies, and be able to react based on this information. What I want most is to educate and support women about the process and to be able to go into labor and birt

h, knowing that this experience is only theirs and their partners, based on the communication that they have had. I believe in the unique power that a woman carries to know exactly what is right for her and her body, and to make informed decisions based on this. It is my goal to help partners be more involved, if they choose, so that this experience is comforted, loving and supported for mom, instead of her finding it scary and unexpected. The role of a doula is meant to help both partners by being a steady support and aid when the situation calls for it.

When I get a text that contractions are happening at 4:45 and we have a baby by 7:06... it's a good day! These beautiful sweet people have allowed me to be part of all three of these precious children coming, Earthside….. today...their first boy!!! I couldn't be more proud of this amazing mama who has rocked all three natural and unmedicated labors! They're not just clients, they have become my friends and l'm so excited to watch all these littles grow up!!

It has taken me months to get to this post, but it was so special. It needed a bit more time. Over the summer I had the most amazing clients gift me tickets to see Taylor Swift. These were not just any tickets. My daughter and my niece are the best of friends and these were tickets to surprise my niece for her sweet 16! Keeping it a secret was crazy, but we pulled it off! 60 hours of travel, food, homecoming, football, laughter, connection, screaming, singing, dressing up, all the feels! We got to do so much in such a short amount of time, but none more important than sharing this with my sister and my niece. These girls has a blast!! I will never have words to thank this amazing couple that I had a joy to work with for what they did for my family!!
