We are pleased to announce that the Town of Schodack voted last night to approve our request to move forward with the purchase of the former Town Hall property. This decision marks an important milestone in our long-term plan to expand and enhance the services we provide to the communities we are honored to serve.

Caitlin and I are grateful for the trust and support shown to us throughout this process. With this approval, we will begin preparations to construct a new funeral home and memorial chapel on the site—an updated, thoughtfully designed facility that reflects both tradition and the evolving needs of today’s families.

The new building will feature a traditional funeral chapel as well as a dedicated memorial chapel for those wishing to celebrate their loved ones through more personalized gatherings. With recent updates to New York State law allowing food and beverage within funeral homes, this memorial chapel will offer the opportunity for catered events. It will also include modern digital technology to help families customize tributes that reflect the unique lives of the people they love.

This location will provide ample off-street parking and allow us to merge the Thomas P. Mooney Funeral Home of Nassau with the Castleton Funeral Home of Castleton. Until the new building is complete we will continue to operate at the current locations. We believe that relocating out of the residential neighborhoods our facilities currently occupy will ease traffic flow and reduce the impact on nearby residents, while giving families a more accessible and comfortable place to gather.

We remain committed to working closely with the Villages of Nassau and Castleton—and with any potential purchasers of our current buildings—to ensure those properties continue to serve meaningful roles within their communities.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the families who have supported us, trusted us, and allowed us to walk beside them during their most difficult moments. It is our privilege to continue serving you.
