The American College of Nurse-Midwives affirms acetaminophen, also commonly known as Tylenol, remains a safe and effective option for relieving pain and reducing fever during pregnancy when used as directed. Ongoing research and expert reviews continue to support its appropriate use, and pregnant individuals can feel confident using it in consultation with their midwife or other healthcare provider.

Having the FREEDOM to choose your own position allows you to listen to your body and find what feels best for you in the moment. This can lead to a more positive and empowering birth experience.

"These findings align with prior trends and reflect sociodemographic changes and evolving cultural, clinical, and policy landscapes," researchers wrote.

Today is Rainbow Baby Day 🌈 We know that many of you will have mixed emotions about this day. You may have your Rainbow Baby or you may be navigating pregnancy or baby loss right now. Some of you may be trying to conceive after loss.

We also know that while having another baby after loss can be a joyful time, it can also be a reminder of what was lost and is often a very worrying time for bereaved parents.

Please know we are here, if you need to talk 💜🧡

Michel Odent was a pioneer and visionary in the birth world. He believed in allowing birth to be simple and following instincts to keep it as safe and empowering as possible. May he rest in peace.

We are saddened to hear news of the passing of Michel Odent, whose vision and writing reshaped the way we understand human birth.

Michel Odent reminded us that birth is not a medical procedure to be controlled, but a primal rythm to be respected. He advocated for home-like maternity units, warm water births, protecting the birthing woman's privacy and honouring her instincts, undisturbed contact between mother and newborn; he was among the first to discuss the importance of the microbiome, and question many of the practices that had (and have) become normalised in overmedicalised maternity systems globally.

Michel Odent's legacy lives on in every dimmed, quiet birthing room, and in every midwife his words and work inspired to join our profession.

Thank you, Michel, for your passion, vision and committment to women and newborns.
